parody or satire The Pacific Grove “Carpet” Seems to be Less Lively This Year

As promised, we have been updating the progress of the beautiful Spring images available, here, in Monterey Bay. One of the most iconic images is that of the ice plant blooms that form a “carpet” of flowers, here, along Ocean Avenue, in Pacific Grove, California. I am of the opinion that seven years of drought have distressed the ice plants enough to make the bloom a meager presentation this year. Hopefully, the rains of this year will help the ice plants recover and come back stronger in future seasons, but, sadly, I think what we were able to capture today is as good as it will be this season.
